International White Wine Day 2024
Posted on August 01 2024,
This International White Wine Day we are shining a light on the brightest and lightest wines here at Fishbone.
From Chardonnay and Vermentino, to Gewürztraminer and Chenin. We travel around the world (of our vineyards) exploring some of the delectable white wines of Fishbone.
Joseph River Estate Chardonnay
The jewel in the Fishbone crown, the Joseph River Estate Chardonnay is an incredibly pure, expressive and engaging wine.
The multi award-winning Chardonnay was harvested from a single vineyard in Margaret River before being fermented and matured in a selection of French oak barrels. Our take on the traditional French varietal offers dry, soft natural acid and nuttiness on the palate.
Our Margaret River Gewürztraminer was harvested in the cool of the night and immediately pressed on arrival to the winery. The European varietal displays exotic fruits and floral scents, upfront enticing aromas. Early sweetness of exotic fruits leads out to long dry finish on the palate.
This Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc is dry and zesty with light savoury elements in the finish. Our Sav Blanc has not been incorporated with oak, making it a shining and bright expression of the fruit purity. A neutral yeast was used for fermentation to retain the primary fruit characters.
This was our very first Vermentino. Hand-picked at our home Wilyabrup vineyard, the Italian varietal has a dry palate of citrus and white fruits with a delicate long finish and a lifted perfume. The citrus and white fruits create a dry, refreshing mouth, while the soft and delicate finish lingers on the tongue.
The handpicked vermentino grapes from our Wilyabrup home vineyard are a welcome addition to the Fishbone wine family.
Dolce Fresco Sweet Chenin Blanc
A brand-new addition to the Fishbone Blue range, this wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc. Originally hailing from the Loire Valley of France, Chenin Blanc is a versatile grape that can be made dry, sweet or sparkling. Our sweet Chenin is pale straw colour with a pronounced intensity of succulent stone fruit aromas. Early medium sweetness of ripe peaches with a soft, natural acidity and an attractive mineral edge to finish on a drier note. A wine well suited to Asian cuisine.
